The electronic security industry has traditionally been male dominated, yet the Women in the Security Evolution (WISE) is carving out a space dedicated to advancing women within the industry. With a clear mission to promote visibility, inclusivity, and equality; WISE’s strategic initiatives and areas of focus are clearly outlined.

This month we feature three women from the CAA’s Women In the Security Evolution,”WISE”. Tatiana Abramek, Gianna Azbill, and Tauni Wallace share a brief overview of their background and what they anticipate the future and impact for women in security will be.

In the constantly evolving landscape of the security industry, the role of women has often been underrepresented. Yet, women have excelled across a variety of roles, from the strategic decisions made in the C-suite to the innovative campaigns crafted in marketing and sales, and the groundbreaking solutions developed in engineering. Their contribution showcases a significant influence that enriches the industry with diverse perspectives, creativity, and resilience. This positive impact continues to grow and expand, reshaping the industry’s future daily.

Women’s History Month, celebrated annually in March, is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the achievements, contributions, and history of women throughout the world.

Women in the Security Evolution, “WISE”, is a CAA group focused on promoting women in the electronic security industry through increased visibility, inclusivity, resource support and equality. WISE currently meets monthly and is dedicated to preparing and planning the right way to create a solid foundation for all members.

Vanessa Castro’s career began with a non-profit providing assistance to the homeless. From here she entered the security industry as an alarm installer and has progressed to now Chief Operating Officer with Varitec. Recognized as an industry leader, her company now writes security plans for cannabis related businesses and is NICP certified. As a business owner, servant-based community leader, wife and mother, Vanessa has learned the art of successful multitasking and is honored by the organizations she touches.
